Many things that were done in the secret corners are now been televised. I remember a popular TV show in Nigeria and other countries,it holds it yearly audition around megacities in the country. In a viral video, a lady spoke in an interview that she is ready to do anything for the $100,000 prize, she said “anything” moral or immoral, “i will do anything to win the prize”.

Many things that now give many fame, fortune and success, if done many years ago were abhorred by our very society,many teenagers now have people on the internet who their follow and model,sin is normal and celebrated today in our day.

But let me draw your attention to the past.Nothing has changed,in the past God judged sin swiftly or sometimes delayed judgement but one thing is certain,actions(good or bad) does have reactions.

Pro 14:9  Fools make a mock at sin

The Bible talks about a time when sin will be jeered at,today our world have massive industries from soul destroying enterprises and engagement.

Imagine the crime on movies today, obscene scenes are now prevalent everywhere,gambling is normal but lest we forget these acts are not normal with God.

Fools mock at sin because they choose to ignore the truth.

When God and the Bible talks about sin,it is a serious issue,it is serious because of what consequences it is imputed to those who have engaged in it,it is serious because of how it rendered God’s creature ugly,it is serious because of the price paid to save man from it,it is serious because of its effect on man here and in eternity,it is serious because of how it destroys many subtly

A man who have given blood, sweat and tears to build something for himself now engulfed in scandals that threaten to destroy his family and career. Consider sins enormity

The careless moments that have produced children without fathers,do you see what effect this have on crime rate and all evil you can imagine..  Consider sins enormity

Consider the young teen who’s life is truncated because of teenage pregnancy  Consider sins enormity

How much is spent on wars,weapons and armory,consider how many lives have been lost from wars. Consider sins enormity

Divorce rate is on the increase,drug abuse is on the rise,how about unmarried couples living together.  Consider sins enormity

About 40 million babies are aborted yearly in the USA,these women have lost their conscience,it is now okay to take the life of another.  Consider sins enormity

Over $2 trillion dollars are unaccounted for yearly through corruption,oh the effects of corruption.

Porn is the new drug our world is battling with today,yet it churns out a yearly revenue that exceeds that of football,soccer,basketball and all the other sports combined.  Consider sins enormity

Every day people gets killed because someone was drunk while driving, alcohol still a multi-billion dollar industry despite the horrors it has caused to individuals, their families and nations entirely.  Consider sins enormity

Despite the bold warnings on every cigarette pack,many are still walking about with cigarettes in their suits,they despise the health consequences,it is still a billion dollar industry today.  Consider sins enormity

How many hard-working men have thrown away everything at the altar of gambling?  Consider sins enormity

We have all the books, motivational speakers,blogs, videos, messaging apps,the internet and other technology,yet we are in a greater mess today than we were yesteryears .  Consider sins enormity

Sin must not be toyed with

Psa_106:43  Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

They were brought low for their iniquity, there were brought low in values, in position,in honour and in the eyes of God.

Sin brings men low from happiness to sadness,sin brings men low from health to sickness, Sin brought Adam low,sin brings men low from honour to shame,sin brings the consequential to inconsequential.

Sin steals, destroys and kills

Only Fools joke at sin because many have been brought low because of their sins.

When a woman knots the tie with a man,he does so knowing rest assuredly that the man will supply all that she may ever need,the man likewise,such is the married life.

The Christian is in a love relationship with the Lord,the Scriptures calls us his bride,and like bride we must be pure and free from all pollutions.

The Bible goes further to tell us of the divine responsibilities before us,Paul knew that after God saves a man,He calls him into a divine ministry.

Though we may have had the Bible in different languages and versions,one thing remains that Genesis to Revelation cannot be added to or subtracted from,from Enoch to the last man in the book of revelations,all men who walked with and worked for  God have one characteristics : they committed their all.

Many consider the job of the president as the greatest job but we forgot that his job is contested and he can be voted out anytime,the believer who have genuinely given his heart to God is given an office greater than that of the president,the president is charged with the well being of the citizens for the time when he is elected into office,the believer is charged with the eternal destinies of people,for every silence when he could have spoken for Christ he may have allowed someone slip into hell without warning,the believer is the hands and feet of Jesus,if he does not move,God cannot move,if he does not speak,the people cannot hear God.

Friends,the responsibilities before the believer are grave and failure is a punishable crime.

There are billions of Bibles today,millions of sermons today,billions of books today,we have the radio,television,internet,airplanes,computers etc but we are terribly failing.

Is ignorance the reason we are failing?,no,we have some of the best seminaries and theologians with us yet we are failing.

We have churches everywhere yet drug abuse is on the rise,crime is on the increasing and everything that has evil on it

If with all this and all we have we are still failing,there something must be wrong

Like the children of Israel who were fully armed yet turned back in the day of battle,the church today has gotten more resource than it has at any time before today,yet we have massive failure.

One reason for this massive failure is that we have not come to terms with our failures

This failure is a consequence of believers not committing their all in the pursuit of God and all that pertains to Him and His Glory.

We believe we can have the best of both worlds,we want the best of God and the best of the world at the same time,we want to eat from the table of the Lord and the table of the devil at the same time,we want to love two lovers,we want to be loyal to two masters at the same time.

Peter and the other apostles most of them were unlettered men,yet they were very effective with God and for God,their secret was they left all and followed him.

A young man once met the saviour and said Lord,i will follow you anywhere. Really,okay,go and sell all your possessions and follow me,the young man went home sad,he could not part with the certain to follow the God.

Maybe his brain was telling him,if you sell everything,how will you feed and clothe yourself,he succumb to the voice of reason and missed out on the incomparable prize of been a follower of Christ.

At one time,Peter and the apostles said to Christ,Master we have left all to follow thee,have you left all.

Many want to be father of many nations like Abraham but don’t want to do obey God “foolishly” like Abraham did.

Many want to do the works of Paul but we avoid the desert of Arabia.

Many want to the ministry of Jesus but not the sufferings, fastings and prayers of Jesus

These are hypocrites who want maximum at minimum,beloved many of such have crept in unawares like Jude said,these men who know not the cost of Jesus death on the cross and who know not the solemnity of the ministry and charge of the believer as demanded by God,many of such have filled our pulpits,seminaries,these men came through the back door,they are strangers of God’s works.

The story is told of 600 soldiers who went on the boat to fight,when they landed on the shore to their amazement,there were outnumbered and out weaponed.

Their general knew that his men may fight with fear,so he gathered them together and ordered that the boats they came with be burnt and also the bridge,he said if we must go back to our country let it be with the enemy’s boat,he wanted his men to fight with all their life,this is called the death ground strategy,the had to fight for their life,at the end of the battle they emerged victorious.

The moral lesson of the story is that when a man ventures on a mission to move forward in a certain direction,he must forgo the certainties,opportunities and privileges that comes with where he is coming from,he must detach his mind from his past.

The story is told of a preacher who obeyed God’s call to preach the gospel,he was already a lecturer at the university he was saved,one day he did the something considered foolish by many,he burnt his diplomas and certificates,he said he did that,that he may have nothing to look back to. Indeed the journey was rough for him,he resigned from his position,he left the certain for the uncertain,he had to endure hunger,lack,ridicule,shame and whatever,today his decisions have paid off,millions today receive spiritual teachings and tutelage from him.

Like other generals in God’s army,he has earned his place.

Friends,salvation is a free gift of God that Christ already paid for but the rewards of God are earned.

Jesus gave his all and that was why He was very successful

Paul gives an account of his ministry,may God touch your heart today and cause you to be serious with his calling on you. We have a cloud of witnesses before us,many have ran this race and were very effective despite having very less than what we have today,may God deliver us from this shame and make us His weapons today.

Are they servants of Christ?

Five times i received 39 lashes from Jews

Three times i was beaten with rods by the romans

Once i was stoned by my enemies.

Three  times i was shipwrecked

I have spent a night and a day in the open sea.

On frequent journeys,i faced dangers from rivers

Dangers from robbers,dangers from my own people

Dangers from the gentiles,dangers in the city,

Dangers in the open country,dangers on the sea,

Dangers among false brothers,labor and hardship

Many sleepless nights,hunger and thirst

Often without food,cold and lacking cloth.

Not to mention other things,there is the daily pressure on me

My care for all the churches

Who is weak, and i am not weak?

Who is made to stumble, and i do not  burn with indignation?

If boastings is necessary, i will boast about my weaknesses

LOVE YOUR CHURCH (2)

„If these men do not remain in the ship, you can not escape.” (Acts 27:31)
    Every church has problems – and people who cause problems. It has always been so. Let’s think of the Corinthian church. Some members became drunk during communion, and others would not participate unless they talked to their favorite preacher. One of them even had an affair with his stepmother (see 1 Corinthians 5: 1). Sunday morning, some very sinful and dysfunctional people are sitting next to you. But God continues to work with each of us, because He sees the potential value we have for His Kingdom. After writing about the martyrs, the martyrs, the unclean, and the greedy, Judas concludes his short book with these words: „And to Him who can keep you from falling, and make you stand up without blemish; full of joy before His glory „(v. 24). Noah jumped out of the boat for the same reason why you do not have to leave the church – you do not have a better alternative. Paul and 275 other people were in a storm and believed they would not survive, but Paul said, „If these men do not stay in the ship, you can not escape.” That means it’s always wrong to go from a church? No, but make sure you have biblical motives and not selfish reasons. You say, „But the pastor’s sermons are too long.” Once Paul preached so much so that a young man in the window on the third floor fell asleep, fell from the floor and died. What did Paul do then? He put his hands on him, raised him and took him back giving him the opportunity to listen to the end of the sermon! (see Acts 20: 9-11). So, if your church has trouble, do not go away; stay there and pray. That’s how things change.

Nemulțumit de viața sa, își făcea mereu griji dacă este sau nu mântuit. Apoi într-o zi, în timp ce studia un copac, a fost izbit de adevărul din Psalmul 1:3: secretul creșterii spirituale se găsește în înrădăcinarea și fundamentarea în Dumnezeu. Așadar, s-a hotărât să-și transforme viața într-un experiment a ceea ce a numit „conversația obișnuită, tăcută și tainică a sufletului cu Dumnezeu.” Astăzi, lumea îl cunoaște mai bine ca Fratele Lawrence, nume pe care i l-au dat prietenii. Este posibil să fi auzit de el și de scrierile sale. Deși și-a petrecut viața în anonimat, în bucătăria unei mănăstiri, felul în care a interacționat cu Dumnezeu i-a făcut pe oameni din întreaga lume să tânjească să-L cunoască pe Dumnezeu așa cum l-a cunoscut el. Prietenii lui spuneau că „el l-a găsit pe Dumnezeu peste tot, atât în timp ce repara papuci, cât și în timp ce se ruga cu adunarea.” După ce a murit, aceștia au conceput o carte formată din scrisorile și conversațiile sale, intitulată „Practica prezenței lui Dumnezeu”. Este una din cele mai citite cărți din întreaga lume din ultimele patru secole. Domnul Isus a spus: „după ce voi fi înălţat de pe pământ, voi atrage la Mine pe toţi oamenii” (Ioan 12:32). Cu cât cultivi mai mult prezența lui Dumnezeu în viața ta, cu atât mai mult ceilalți vor fi atrași la El. Așadar, fă-L pe Dumnezeu vizibil în tine!
